Valériane heads the Secretariat of the Arbitration Court of the Swiss Chambers’ Arbitration Institution (“SCAI”) in Geneva.She works in close collaboration with the members of the Arbitration Courtin order to guarantee the best service in the administration of arbitration cases filed under the Swiss Rules of Commercial Arbitration. The Secretariat is also in charge of ensuring the conduct of mediation cases submitted under the Swiss Rules of Commercial Mediation.
Prior to joining SCAI, Valériane practiced as an arbitration lawyer for over 6 years in the international arbitration groups of major international law firms in Paris and in Geneva. She gained experience both as counsel and as secretary to arbitral tribunals, working both on international commercial and investment arbitration cases conducted under different arbitration rules (Swiss Rules, ICC, SCC, ICSID), and concerning disputes arising in a variety of industries (e.g.,tourism, telecommunication, energy).
Having also worked as a legal counsel to the trade mission of the French embassy in Mexico, Valériane has a good understanding of multilateral trade issues.
Valériane speaks fluently English, French and Spanish.
