Founder at LexLis Law office, | India

I started my practice in the year 2006 from the Supreme Court of India. After working at top law firms and under the best practitioners and Senior advocates, I started my Independent practice in 2008 from my own chambers in District courts of Tis Hazari, which has the honours of being the largest court in Asia since British India time.

Within a year of operations we branched out an office in Gurgaon, Haryana which at the time was the corporate hub in delhi NCR, soon 60% of our clients came from the real estate sector handling dispute resolution, transactions and contracts for them.

In years to come, we worked with almost 75% of companies belonging to the real estate market. We started handling all of their myriad issues. We were front runners for these companies and were retained mainly due to our ability to resolve disputes and solve issues during the recession that hit real estate sector in India couple of years after the Lehman brother s fall in 2007. During the course, we dealt with multiple disputes between real estate companies, their customers, competitors, bankers, and even foreign direct investment funds and private equity funds. We expanded into our third office in mumbai, India, at the time. The advent of the insolvency and bankruptcy law in India posed a challenge both towards framing, interpreting, and enforcing the same on companies in distress. Right from the stage of raising suggestions to advising corporates on their insolvency, representing them in court, creating resolution mechanisms and plans, and leading the path to several Landmark and interpretative Judgments, we were everywhere.

The firm “Lexlis law offices” during this time was one of the leading boutique firms in real estate insolvency resolution. At the backdrop of the above and in light of our aim to reach global markets with our services, I, as Managing partner and patron, started visiting Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai for international transactions and negotiations The firm finally decided to set an international satellite practice out of Dubai and since 2016 have been actively collaborating with local firms here for its clients and global outreach.

During recession in 2020 when the whole world was under lock down at my behest the firm ensured that not even a single layoff was to be made and we adopted quickly to virtual practice and outreach for our employees and clients. The firm practice accordingly grew in contrast to others at this time, resulting in the acquisition of the second office for its clients and associates in Delhi, the finalisation of space in dubai and mumbai to accommodate the growth plan. During the said time, the firm handled series funding, IPO listing, and insolvency resolution for several clients in different sectors. I was also designated as an international counsel with limited access before the DIFC courts in dubai in 2022. We have been instrumental towards negotiating some major national and international real estate deals such as negotiating the Berkshire Hathaway services(BHHS) offices in India, negotiating and setting up one of the biggest leased area for We Work India and spear heading dispute resolution through reverse vesting order(reverse corporate insolvency resolution mechanism) for the biggest real estate company in North India I.e Supertech Ltd. Making us the pioneers in the said field and a sought-after firm and individual practitioner by the real estate industry in India and abroad.

In a span of 17 years, I individually handled several dispute resolutions, real estate negotiations, structuring, and concluded hundreds of successful transactions and disputes. As a first-generation lawyer, things are never too easy for you, but my experience has been that goodwill created and hard work done is always recognised.
