- Rishi is the founder and principal of Messrs Rishi & Partners, a boutique law firm based in Kuala Lumpur. An Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya, a Barrister-at-Law of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (CAMCO) with the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers.
Rishi’s expertise lies in fraud claims, corporate and shareholder disputes, anti-money laundering compliance, defamation, and arbitration. He has appeared at all levels of the Malaysian courts and before domestic and international arbitral tribunals.
Rishi has wide-ranging experience and a positive track record in resolving complex multiparty contractual, and boardroom disputes. He was involved in aspects of international civil recovery suits involving the infamous 1MDB saga, which includes matters against the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) and Aabar Investment PJS.
Rishi has served as a former secretary of the Malaysian Middle Temple Alumni Association and was a contributing author of the Malaysian White Book on Civil Procedure. Rishi had recently also delivered a talk (as the opening panelist) at the Malaysian National Litigation Conference 2022 officiated by the Chief Justice of Malaysia Tun Tengku Maimun binti Tuan Mat, where he discussed the landscape and parameters of the doctrine of inequality of bargaining positions in Malaysia.
