James Church-Morley is a Senior Director in FTI Consulting’s Economic and Financial Consulting practice and is based in Dubai. James originally worked in FTI Consulting’s London office from November 2014 to January 2017. He then transferred to FTI Consulting’s Singapore office, before transferring to Dubai in January 2019.
James specialises in the assessment of damages in litigation and international arbitration. He also has substantial experience of performing valuations of both businesses and shares in commercial and contentious contexts. He has worked across a wide ranges of industries including architecture, IT services, manufacturing, online travel agents, online real estate agents, and solar power.
James started his career in the KPMG Private Equity tax team, where he worked on both compliance and structuring for Private Equity funds in the UK. He then transferred to the Share Valuations team where he undertook a wide range of valuations of shares and other equity instruments including partnership interests.
He holds a BA in Japanese and History from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London and spent a year studying at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo where he was awarded the Heiwa Nakajima scholarship.
James was a member of the Sub-Committee of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Singapore branch) on Witness Conferencing in International Arbitration. He was a member of the drafting committee of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators’ ‘Guidelines for Witness Conferencing in International Arbitration’. He joined this committee in January 2018 after winning an essay competition sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in Singapore.
